The NVIDIA CMP 170HX is a GA100 card that NVIDIA shipped with most of its features clamped in firmware and OTP fuses. The community has worked out how to restore many of them. This page is the map; each unlock has its own page with steps, numbers and sources. The plain-words version is on the unlock overview.

There are two cards and they unlock very differently. Know which one you have first: see Which card do I have.

  • 8 GB card (PCI ID 10de:20c2): its redundancy rows (RIR) were burned at the factory, so there is
no software path past what cmpunlocker already does. It gives 64 GB of memory and 74 SM.
  • 10 GB card (PCI ID 10de:2082): it has 16 empty RIR rows. Burning two of them clears one gate fuse,
after which almost everything else (full 128 SM, PCIe Gen3, the 6th HBM stack) can be done in volatile software. It
gives 40 GB (48 GB on a lucky card) but much more compute and interconnect.

There is no 8 GB equivalent of the 10 GB RIR path yet, for Gen3 or anything else (2026-10-26). Froggo found no free RIRs on one of his 8 GB cards, and Humvee55 says no Ampere-era NVIDIA part except the 10 GB card will take the path. Asked when an 8 GB Gen3 unlock is coming, _L_ answered that it depends on someone finding a different way to unlock the card, and there is no clear way yet. Source: @froggao, 2026-10-22
